Umbria Jazz: the festival of music in Perugia

In the historical centre of Perugia, every year in summer, Umbria Jazz takes place, a music festival of international importance that over the years has hosted the names that have made the history of Jazz, Blues and Soul music and not only: from Miles Davis to James Brown, from Dizzie Gillespie to Quincy Jones, up to Sting, Eric Clapton, Prince and many musical groups and personalities who have echoed their voices and their instruments in the alleys of the city.

The festival usually takes place in July and for about ten days the old town centre resonates with the sound harmonies of the many musicians who, even beyond the large official stages of the Arena Santa Giuliana and Piazza IV Novembre, improvise along the main street and the narrow streets around it, creating a truly unique atmosphere.
